Rick Brown
Chaps I'm kit bashing a 1/72nd prototype Spitfire based on the Hasegawa MK1. I've smoothed off all of the panel details from the top of the wings but I don't really have a very good drawing, or picture, showing the panel lines etc. Can someone help me out with this? Rick. Edgar
A few things, extra, you might like to know:- the carburettor intake didn't have a fairing like the "standard" Mk.I; it seemed to just go straight into the engine; there was no transport joint just in front of the tailplane, confirming just what a "one-off" K5054 was; there was no inspection hatch on the starboard side of the fuselage, its inclusion was recommended by an RAF test pilot; the u/c legs were not splayed, as in later Marks, but hung vertically (must have been even more fun for ground handling.) Sorry if you were already aware of this. Edgar Edited July 26, 2012 by Edgar

Edgar
If you go back three pages, in the Interwar section, you'll find a fairly animated discussion, on K5054, which might give you some more food for thought. Edgar
