SimonR
Hi all, Just completed this Airfix Bae Hawk, another one for my Chivenor collection, this time I have done her in the two tone grey scheme to represent XX289 circa 1990. Built OOB apart from Pavla resin seats. Painted in humbrol/revell acrylics. Canopy is not fixed yet, probably display it open. Crit welcome! cheers Simon Edited July 19, 2012 by SimonR

Hawkkeeper
Worked on the real 289 during my time at Chiv, was on 63/19F while there, a/c looks just right. there isn't a white stripe on the starboard side inline with tailplane leading edge on the real a/c. starboard side shown in this pic on airliners.net http://www.airliners.net/photo/UK---Air/Br...51c1ae80720d4b0 Edited July 19, 2012 by Hawkkeeper

SimonR
Thanks for all your kind comments guys!! Blimey Mark, cant believe you've not done this one! Worked on the real 289 during my time at Chiv, was on 63/19F while there, a/c looks just right.there isn't a white stripe on the starboard side inline with tailplane leading edge on the real a/c. starboard side shown in this pic on airliners.net http://www.airliners.net/photo/UK---Air/Br...51c1ae80720d4b0 Cheers for the heads up on the white stripe HK, wasn't sure about that to be honest and should have gone with my gut instinct and left them off. I have also noticed on some photos of 2T grey Hawks there looks to be a different colour on the leading edge of the wings - what is that? cheers Simon Edited July 19, 2012 by SimonR
Mark M
i belive its a protective strip with changes color over time much in the same way as selotape weathers and turns brown
