Phil Reeder
I`ve worked on this model for the past four years. When I first attempted to build it ,as a full-hull ,I completely lost interest in it,as I`m not really into IJN stuff.Last year I discovered that Fujimi made a wooden deck for the kit and so I got one from HLJ ,and restarted the build, but this time as a waterline, again I lost interest, and it was only a couple of weeks ago I decided to set about finishing this "Mill-Stone"kit,which I have now done.As it cost £150 approx in 2008 (now costing nearly double that),I certainly have had my monies worth out of it!! Cheers Phil
jimbuna
I'm not sure where you store your builds but I should imagine a museum somewhere would be more than happy to display something as fantastic looking at that in a maritime section....awesome. Alan P
Well worth the effort, it looks fantastic in that seascape. A much better balanced design than the Fuso class, betrays its British design roots. Al PS. If you've got anymore IJN stuff that you're not interested in, please toss it this way

Shar2
Very nice, as usual Phil. Having just finished the Fuso I fancied starting one of my Kongo class.
Dancona
That is spot on Phil, the seascape is perfect - the colours and tones are just right- and the build itself is stunning, BTW how on earth do you manage to turn these out at the rate you do, you seem to be able to knock out a museum quality model in the same time it takes me to paint 2 small aeroplanes (badly)! Congrats Dave

The Sage
Hi Phil, That's a superb build and finish I've followed a lot of your WIP over the last few month's and am finding them a bit inspiring to have a go. I have a few ships and subs, the latest aquired being the Trumpeter 1/144 Spearfish, which I may attempt I'm keeping my fingers crossed I get as good as yours. Cheers and thanks for the inspiration Andy
