roymattblack
These are a few Star Wars dioramas I made many years ago. The models are Revell or Airfix. The landscapes were made using moss, twigs and plasticine trees. The 'sets' were lit through a paper 'web' to give branch shadows in the forest sets, and the actual lights, lasers and jets were airbrushed onto the finished prints. The last pic gives an idea of the actual sets - about 3'6" x 2'. Hope you like them. Roy. Edited July 11, 2012 by roymattblack

roymattblack
Do I spy an old Kenner toys AT-ST there? You do indeed..... All I did was weather it up a bit. The Speeder bike was an Airfix kit but I chopped the riders legs off and made my own using plasticine wrapped in black fabric, then added the kit boots. The Shuttle was also a large (Airfix I think) kit, and the X-Wing shooting at it is actually a cut-out photo taped to the rear of the Shuttle. The laser fire and blast are also a flat cut-out picture with airbrush highlights on the actual finished print. (No computers or Photoshop back in those days) I actually took around 150 pictures and ended up with about a dozen decent ones. I have several others that I'll dig out at some time. The whole thing was featured in Amateur Photographer at the time. Glad you like the pics. Roy. Edited July 17, 2012 by roymattblack
