Daniel Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Well, here is my entry I bought it in Shanghai, bargain! The spruces, it will be out of the box, totally. Close up of the scheme Probably be next week before I start in earnest. Dan
Iain Ogilvie Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Looks like a cracker of a paint scheme! How much is 58? (showing my ignorance here...) in £? Iain
Scarlet Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 How much is 58? (showing my ignorance here...) in £? £5.87 at todays exchange rate.
Alpha Delta 210 Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 A great scheme, Dan and a bargain to boot. Looking forward to your WIP.
Daniel Posted July 11, 2012 Author Posted July 11, 2012 Thanks all, the scheme is all by masking, not even any cheat lines provided! Dan
TonyR Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Hi Daniel, It's a great subject to do and very colourful, but that scheme is no longer used by the current August 1st team, they had all their aircraft painted up in that way, but then changed their minds and used a totally different scheme ---- http://aerobaticteams.net/august-1st-gallery.html. If you want the current markings there is a set on the market in 1/72 from a company called Dream Model ---- http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10155932. Good luck with whichever one you choose to do. Tony R
Navy Bird Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 £5.87 at todays exchange rate. I go to China and Hong Kong a few times each year, and I've always found the prices to be about 50% to 60% of what I would pay in the US. And it doesn't matter which manufacturer, or where the kit came from originally. Next trip I'm taking an empty suitcase to fill up with goodies from the hobby shops! Cheers, Bill
Gajman Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 (edited) That's a colourful scheme! Looking forward to seeing the finished thing. And at under £6 that looks like a great bargain you got there. Gary Edited July 12, 2012 by Gajman

Daniel Posted July 12, 2012 Author Posted July 12, 2012 Ok, managed to build up the cockpit, very impressed with the seats, each one is 7 pieces. This is 1/72 and massively zoomed in and cropped (iPad pictures) That really will be it until next week, as I'm off diving this weekend. Dan
