Just a quick question, have any manufacturers ever kitted Transformers figures/vehicles? I've had a quick look on ebay but can't find anything so I'm assuming the quick answer is 'no'?

Ah, now there is a sort of snap-fit Gundam style kit available of Optimus Prime and Bumblebee..

Optimus:

Prime does come with a decal sheet if you want to paint it yourself.

Bumblebee

Nothing official or licensed that I can recall except maybe for some fixed pose figurines that required paint as far as I know. I believe in Japan a couple of the Transformers movie characters have been done as super articulated figurines that require a bit of assembly, but I would say they are more like action figures than models.

Now if you were to get your hands on a Macross VF-1S Super Valkyrie, it wouldn't take much more than a different paintjob to turn it into a Generation 1 Jetfire (since the toy was a Valyrie toy).
