roymattblack
This is my 'alteration' of the Revell Ferrari F10 into the 2010 Lotus R31. The kit needed a fair bit of 'bodgelling' and scratch building and I had to design and print all the decals myself. Hope you like it... Roy. Madmonk
Thought I had missed revells latest release for a moment. That look great and the decals are excellent, how did you do the white ones.

Thanks for the kind words. The white tyre decals are actually on a black b/g cut close to the lettering. I coloured the cut edge of the decal with a black Sharpie before wetting and applying them. That way, the white film 'edge' doesn't show. All the body decals were done in the same way. The finished car had around 5-6 coats of Klear. Roy. Spad
Oh blimey - that's good! No it's amazing! Would've never have thought of converting one F1 car into another type. How did you go about it, please share your secrets! cheers Rick
roymattblack
Oh blimey - that's good! No it's amazing! Would've never have thought of converting one F1 car into another type. How did you go about it, please share your secrets! cheers Rick The Revell Ferrari F10 is actually very close in shape etc to the Lotus. The air vents on the pontoon side tops were filled and smoothed, the nose shortened by 5mm, the front wing supports reshaped into an 'S' shape, the rear wing end plates reshaped and the upper rear airbox fin was cut down. All the alterations were actually pretty simple. Designing and making the decals took FAR longer than converting the car but it was fun and I was (and still am...) disappointed that nobody makes a sensibly priced kit of this lovely car. Roy.
