US Navy Group Build

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I think I will change my entry. Instead of the F-8 Crusader. I will now do a 1/48 Hasegawa A-4F Skyhawk in Blue Angels colours.

I know that there is a specialised A-4 GB but that will start for me to late, because I want to have it ready for telford and I have got already some other project for Telford as well. The kit is already started, but the only thing that is Glued is the wing. I have also done some kleaning up for a resin Aires cockpit. I hope that this is in the 25% started limit.

Cheers,

Arnold,

thats fine by me. cleaning doesnt count (in my opinion any way) and wings together isnt a biggie (well it is cos I always mess it up but you know what I mean)

I'm spoilt for choice on this one. I've got the Academy Phantom as I've said, but this morning I had a Hasegawa 1/48 F-4S come through the door as well as some Furball Aero-Design decals for the Academy Phantom.

Arrrrgh the decisions! :frantic:

Just checked my stash - over 20 possibilities.

Most likely a Hasegawa S3 Viking costing me a whole pound back in 1999.

I recently bought Bi-centennial decals for it on Ebay.

Following a stash-dig of archaeological proportions, I now have in my hand a Hasegawa S-3A Viking.

Bought at SMW Telford - the second show, this is one of the cheap kits that IPMS Avon were sold me for a whole pound.

I've got decals for the white Bi Centennial aircraft, and operational decals to freshen up my Airfix model - built in 1976ish.

Bring it on.

Once I finish the CF-18s I'd like to participate in this. I've got a ton of kits in the stash I want to finish. The big four are:

Special Hobby SBU Vindicator (the older one, not the newly release one.)

Hasegawa SBD-3 Dauntless (With eduard cockpit and flaps PE)

Hasegawa F-11 Tiger (early nose version)

Monogram F8F Bearcat (with tons of extras)

Most of those are just under 25% started... interior painted some small assemblies done.

After that I have a lot of other kits in the stash:

Hobbycraft F2H Banshee.

Valom X8FB-1

Hasegawa Skyraider

MPM Dark Shark.

What I might do is to focus on aircraft from the early post war era.

Hopefully I'll be entering with a Hellcat in a rather unusual colour scheme

the more unusual the better... my Cutlass will be NMF - just plain MM "silver" I think as armour doesnt call much for bright NMF so not worth getting Alcad ;-)
