Finally got the F-16N done, so here we go onto the next GB!

The Italeri 1/48 Mirage F.1CT/CR kit, ScaleWorx F1AZ resin conversion set and some Verlinden Resin Mk.82's

Contents of the ScaleWorx F1AZ conversion which includes forward fuselage with correct nose, IFR, exhaust, PE IP, new ventral strakes with chaff/flare pods, ECM antennae, MB Mk4 seat and new nose wheel gear door. Also included are two vac-formed canopies and MAV decal sheet for a late, 'Low Vis' scheme F1AZ.

This what I hope to achieve;

It is both deadly and attractive, really got a 'love' for this aircraft after reading Dick Lord's Vlamgat.

Found some more bits I'd bought for this F1AZ;

Pavla intakes and Resin Art wheels with the correct hubs.

Got some work done on this beauty.

Cut off the nose and forward fuselage, quite simple and the resin replacemnt (pretty weighty!) fits like a glove. The exhaust requires a bit of trimming of the kit but is otherwise drop-in perfection.

Lookin' good, I'll follow this build with interest.

Apparently the Pavla intakes aren't quite right for the SAAF Mirage F.1's, but it's too late now!

Wings on and cockpit sprayed black.

Just found out that the Pavla intake has the wrong shaped shock cone for the SAAF F.1 :doh:

(the kit supplied intakes and cones are correct shape for the SAAF F.1, with the tip having the panel line where the tip 'opens' to allow access to the panel behind on the fuselage)

Luckily they pinged clean off with a bit of pressure in the right place.

Some more progress here too today.

Cheers Don, it's a bit of a mess at the moment TBH, but it'll pan out ok.

I have no doubt she'll turn out looking suitably brilliant mate.
