Shaun Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 (edited) I spent a bit of time studying the Tornado GR4 in the Static at Yeovilton on Sat (there was much else Fast jet to look at) and noticed this wing seal. Is this normal?, it did not seem to concern the crew who flew it in. Is this a reflection on how the Tornado fleet is maintained these days Shaun. Shaun. Edited June 25, 2012 by Shaun
IXGR1 Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 -I do not know. But is this just an incidental tear to the outer (protective) covering on the wing seal bladder ? -curious.
Scarlet Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 As long as it still inflates it'll be fine, probably be changed at the next scheduled servicing. I spent 2 years on Tornado F3 Majors at St Sthan and we used see the wing bags in various states of disrepair, although it's not a big job to change them.

I just thought they looked a little rough, must be pretty tough material. Shaun
