Having read about Thud ops in Vietnam, I'd describe this as CAS to the bombers. Getting in just front of the friendlies and zapping the bad guys when they show their heads (radars). I love the lines of the 105, brute of an aeroplane, and will follow your build with much interest. (I do think you should have to do it in 1:48 though, the one true scale. :))

you do get the ability to leave the gun bay door open - but a half-gun isnt 100% accurate ;-) not decided on this yet.

ok - progress, wings on, cockpit etc in... still not decided on the gun bay and need to work out how much nose weight to add. Think this one I am gonna do clean - no fading or weathering, just as I like it as a model rather than a depiction of reality....

Wings on before jointing the fuselage? Unusual but I can see the advantages. Good thinking.

no - fuselage is joined - no nose on yet (gap at the front will go when the nose is on.....

or did i miss something?

I thought you were still considering doing something with the gun bay. It seemed logical that you wouldn't close the fuselage until that decision was made.

Don - no the gun bay ois molded into the fuselage - you can either leave it open or close it... no scratchbuilding on this one... still not sure what to do (air refueling hatch is shut anyway...)

Going quickly! A few more days and I'd have missed this one!

now it slows down - painting time is limited.... but hoping Saturday PM/Sunday PM to at least get the wheel wells and underside done - actually I ought to check I have the paints in for this ;-)
