Tornado F3 Fighting Cocks 43(F) Squadron, additional new photos

"Italeri 1/48, resin, PE details, some srcatch"

Hi

below you will find some recent photos of my Tornado F3 from 43(F) squadron.

I used quite some AM products, not all of them really made for this kit but with some work i could make them fit wink.png

namely:

Eduard interior set for the cockpit

Paragon Seats

Paragosn flap set

Paragon wheels

Decals are from now regrettably defunct Aviation Workshop/ Model Alliance

I tried my skills on integrating Aires wheel bay for the Hobbyboss kit (no big hassle)

and the definitely better detailed landing gear from SAC that perfectly fits the aires set.

the icing on the cake where Aires new nozzles that required some surgery to the Italeri fuselage but compensate with exquisite detail.

now some photos:

Thanks everybody on britmodeler, a lot of inspiration and detail photos, links etc. were used!

Without this great reference compendium this project would not have been so much fun!!!

Great Build and Finish.... Glad you enjoyed the model, For me thats the main thing!!

And what a better cross reference than Britmodeller to help your build. I find it invaluable in my own builds. :)

Very "Crisp", and nice to see a Tonka with all the resin goodies on it !

IF you are after a critic. The only one I could think of is the uneven exhaust staining on the fin; correct me if I'm wrong but it should be more of a even 'leaf' shape ?

If you would like some constructive criticism...... the blast from the thrust buckets would be a bit more uniform and I think you have the aerials on the spine a bit too far forward , they should be in the middle of the panel just in front of the nav light

Apart from that its a great build :speak_cool:

Not a lot to criticise. Great looking Tornado, the only thing other than the weathering on the fin would be to question whether the Tornados were still carrying Skyflash by the time they were modded for AMRAAMs and ASRAAMs?

Those wings look great with everything hanging down too.

Exhaust stain is a bit strong, I know...

Skyflash and ASRAAM was definitely a possibility for some time in the 2000s... AMRAAM supposedly had some teething problems!

Glad you all like it, Paragon wings are really nice and look the part :)

Sad that they are no longer available!
