Bet that strap holding the tow bar gets modded PDQ, you'd want to be able to release it without clambering up the side of the beast to release that ratchet.

Agree that it looks like somebody has thought about protection though, nicely sloped lower hull....just like the Centurion in fact....Nothing new under the sun :goodjob:

Any idea what the two boxes on the bonnet front are about?

I believe they are ECM boxes, as seen on quite a few vehicles.

I reckon a sharp knife/bayonet would deal to the strap pdq in times of stress without having to bother about the niceties of undoing ratchets.;)

the boxes on the bonnet are something to do with stopping IEDS exactly how is a secret but the boxes appear on all manner of vehicles even chally 2s have them. At tankfest you were not allowed on the sunday to look down onto the top of the chally 2 because of all the gizmos fitted .
