Mike
Damaged Road Wheels & Flanges for Early Tiger I (two sets) 1:35 ET Model These sets will be perfect for creating either a maintenance diorama, the removal of the outer road wheels before installing the narrower transport tracks, or a knocked out Tiger that has been partially burned out. Damaged Road Wheels (ER35-032) This set contains four road-wheels for an early Tiger I, two with a longer shaft for installation on the outer axles, and two with the shorter type for the inner axles. They are moulded bereft of the usual rubber tyres that were factory installed, which is a typical state following a fire, where all the rubber has been consumed by the flames. The hubs are realistically thin, and one of mine had taken a bit of a hit, cracking the hub out from the wheel. It was a simple job to re-locate the hub and run a little CA into the crack to re-secure it. Road Wheel Flanges (ER35-033) The second set provides 16 flanges for an early Tiger I, eight of which are suitable for inner wheels, the rest for the outer. These hub parts have realistic detailing and the bolt-holes are all drilled out for realism. They are often seen when the outer wheels have been removed for installation of the transport tracks mentioned above, due to the width of the full tracks exceeding the width of the flatbed trucks on which the Tiger was transported by rail. Conclusion These parts are a godsend for the diorama builder, and could also find their way into the stowage of an early Tiger, as spare parts were often carried for the wheels and tracks to cater for minor battle damage in that area. The moulding is very crisp, detail excellent for the early wheels, and the moulding plugs are attached in a sensible manner to minimise clean-up. Take care of the hubs on the roadwheels though, as they are necessarily delicate. Recommended.
