1/48 Academy F-16C-25

Recommended Posts

Hi all

Here is my entry for the Fighting Falcon STGB. She is the 1/48 Academy F-16C-25 built as 84-1393, 'Ace in the Hole' of the 111th FS at Houston in Texas in 2007. The WIP thread is here. Built OOB except for tape seat belts and Superscale decals. She was painted using home-made mix of Blue (Humbrol) and Xtracrylix/Tamiya paints for the rest with Alclad to the exhaust.

She was a bit frustrating in places but is a looker!

Great work mate and nice little base! Did you make it too?

Dave

Thanks Dave - nah, the base was from a seller at the Yeovilton show. It's quite small, so perfect for this little Viper

Wow was that all the way back in 2007!?!

Lovely build, definately looks the part

Thanks. Yeah, it staggered me too thinking this was 5-yr old scheme! Only seemed like yesterday when I first saw it online - but 2007 was when I started modelling again!

How very strange! Nice work though, very tidy.

Thanks Don and welcome back - nice to see you posting again!

Gotta love those yellow wings

To be frank...no other reason to build this really - I saw the real thing online in about 2008, then Superscale International brought the decals out, then Hannants had them on special offer, then this GB arrives...it's fate

Wow, a terrific-looking version of this F-16 ! She looks remarkable in those great "Thirties" U.S. pursuit-plane colors. Great job here.

Mike

Thanks Mike, much appreciated

Eyecatching bird, very cool!

Thanks - I agree, definitely eye-catching!
