First off l know the kit has issues and l wish to address them. I know Neil had a correction set out there but it either rare as hen's teeth or expensive on Ebay to bid on sooooooooooo the alternative is fix them myself which requires information. So I cometh to my brothers in arms here for answers and hopefully l good set of 1/48 line drawings to work by.

The floor is now open please let me hear what you have to say and thanks in advance including smackers who got me the SAM article l wanted

So the tail booms from what l can gather from reading is too close together. How much further apart do they need to be??

I have hi-res scans of the tops & bottoms of both the Testors & Paragon wings, with a ruler in between. PM me with your email addy, and I can send you the scans. They are 1.24 Mb each in size.

I also have some photocopies of pages (14) from the OV-10 Tech Order 1L-10A-1, which has drawings of the aircraft & interior , as well as photos of various cockpit stuff.

Sheeesh! I didn't realise there was THAT much wrong with the kit!

This is true but l think if l read it right somewhere a lot of the kit was based on the prototype. Yeah well got some work cut out for me. Keep those cards and letters coming they are a great help

Believe it or not, there are not actually that many mistakes. A lot of the improvement in the Paragon sets is standard stuff for an older kit - much better cockpit, more detailed wheels, surface detail, correcting the rudders. The real biggie is one simple mistake: the engines and tailbooms are too close to the fuselage. This requires a whole new wing and tailplane. Whether this is because the prototype's booms were in closer, I'm not sure. The OV-10's span was increased from 30ft to 40ft when it went into production, and the kit's wing is much closer to 40 scale feet than it is to 30, so it doesn't seem to be the prototype.

Ah! my mistake - I took the expanse of resin as being correcting faults rather than just enhancing inadequate detail! Yeah, the boom problem is a biggie though.
