marty_hopkirk Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 (edited) My book and DVD arrived today - not bad going, arriving in Blighty only just over a week after being posted posted in Canada. It is an absolutely gorgeous book, rammed full of images from the Frederick Ordway archive - a high proportion of images and drawings never publicly seen before now - I would say well over 50% are the images and drawings are unpublished in any format before now. As a teaser it includes the the previously unseen images orbiting weapons, the Discovery filming miniature in the workshop as well as raft upon raft of MGM AD drawings of both the models and filming sets, plus unseen stills from the filming sets. I can't give this book a high enough recommendation - it is nothing but essentia,l particularly with the 1/48 Orion and 1/32 Aries 1B from Atomic City and Fantastic Planet's Space Station V all immanent releases. Good days indeed, for those believe that 2001: A Space Odyssey was the best film ever made. Marty... Edited June 7, 2012 by marty_hopkirk
