PDH
At the Torbay Show at the weekend one of the guys from IPMS West Cornwall was displaying two of his scratch built 1/192nd scale British battleships - HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Resolution. Both were in 1918 configuration. Very kindly he removed the glass cover on the HMS Queen Elizabeth and I was able to take some photos. It was the one model in the show that I wished I could have taken home with me. Not wonderful shots as the model was about 5 foot long and the light in the hall was poor but I hope you can enjoy them. Model took nearly 4000 hours of work. Only commercial items used were the the anchor chains, everything else was scratch built. The deck planks were all individually cut such is the level of detail involved. Anyway enjoy...... Seahawk
The deck planks were all individually cut such is the level of detail involved. Not only that, there are individually rolled-up flags in the flag lockers on the bridge. I don't know the guy's name but I had the privilege of talking to him at the West Cornwall show: one of those people for whom the word "modeller" seems inadequate, at least if it also encompasses bodgers like myself. He only has space for about 6 of these giants so every time he finishes one, another has to be sold off!
Phil Reeder
Thats some model! By my reckoning it should be about 5feet long no wonder he has space for only half a dozen. Amazing job. Cheers Phil Edited June 5, 2012 by Phil Reeder
Gannon
Truly an amazing bit of work and at around five feet that would be very impressive. Edited June 5, 2012 by Gannon

foxy
Yes he is a very very good builder of the olde ships. A 1/350 scale one would look insignifcant to thease very fine ships he builds. The guy's name is Brian Hill.

Seahawk
Well if thats the best he can do I guess its ok Ironically, I don't think it is: I've seen other creations of his that I've liked even more. You're almost surprised the funnels don't smell of coal smoke.
