RNoAF F-86 "Flying Jokers" 1/72

Recommended Posts

Hi folks

This is what I am TRYING to do. I have started 2 GB`s but not finished any yet, but I might finish this one.

Going to (try) to build 3x F-5A RNoAF "Flying Jokers". All OOB... Might get a sheet of decals (Norwegian Numbers)

2 x Italeri 1/48 and 1 Classic Airframes one... Let`s see how it goes...

Wish me luck.....

There are no guarantee that I will finish a F-5 as time, work and family. And not let us forget that it is summertime and holidays:-) So I will never have the time to finish the 3 F-5`s that I hoped for...

Soooo.... I found a F-86F and some decals waaaaaay down in a box that might end up as a "Flying Jokers":-)

I will not give up...

Here is a picture of an old F-86 Flying Jokers that I built...

Will make a bit different than that one:-)

Just so you know... I am working on it... Working best under pressure!!

I am at this time at work, but I took it along. Pics will follow later this evening/night when I get home from my late shift.

Wings and fuselage are together. I will display it in the air, wheels up for my first time:-)

Got a 4mm bar from work that I will use....

I had to take the fuselage apart due to me forgetting to paint. Has now been painted inside and will be glued back together when I get home later tonight. Also found a pilot for it. As it will be flying it needs a pilot. Also found a stand fir it where it will be joined by my other Jokers Sabre. Also some other tricks;-)

Hi Ørjan

Do you think that she will be finished in time?

I hope so, because I want to see your work.

I`m working on it....:-)

The goal is to be finished in time! No Guarantee, BUT i am doing my best.

When I get home tonight I will paint the rest of the cockpit and gluing the fuselage together and glue the wings on aswell. Speed breaks and so on is already in place... So it looks good.

Well.....

Here are some of the pics...

Took the model with me to work. I work with machining/Milling/CNC so when the machine was running I was using a sharp blade on the model....

The above pictures was taken yesterday.... ehh.. Monday.

This was taken tuesday morning....

The next two was taken only a few minutes ago.

Now she only needs filler, sanding, filler, sanding a few more part to go on before a little more filler and sanding before I might get base coat on on Thursday morning. If that is sucsessful I might get it finished before the weekend...

Wow! You do like working under pressure, don't you?! She's looking good so far. I'm sure you can finish her in time.

It looks like Sabres are our most prolific type, and I thought it would be the Hawk!

I have been told I get the best result under pressure;-)

Latest update is...

Sanded down the filler and there is no need for more. Yey.

Will rescribe the lines. Also made a hole for the stand. All look good.

Next update around midnight.

Ah. Forgot.... The tanks are also on....

Ps: this is great fun......
