Silver Fox
Here is my attempt at the newish Revell Ventura. Its a lovely build and is almost straight out of the box. I converted it to single pilot operation and replaced the propellor with a Vector set. The decals are Zotz though I replaced the top wing roundel. Sadly didn't realise until too late that I used one with dark blue edging to the bar. NZ5440 was badly damaged on operations after a heavly landing and is one of the few machines to retain the artwork, applied in the US, in the field. I took advantage of a beautiful evening to photograph her in the garden, hence the shadows.
AndyC
She looks good - I am looking forward to starting mine once I have the replacement props and maybe the cockpit. Good work.

Silver Fox
thank you for the kind comments. I forgot to mention that the wheels are by Ultracast and really are worth purchasing and that the forward port window fell into the the fuselage when I removed the mask, so I replaced it with white glue, hence the opaque look on the photos as it hadn't quite dried. Thunderjug
That was quick work Now I want one even more. Revell seem to have it spot on at the moment, subjects people want at a price they can afford.
Pete M.
Hi Andy. Came out rather well my son. A pity about the starboard decal, but 'sh**' happens! Mine is still sitting in the box (along with the Ultracast goodies and Vector cowls/props/engine fronts) until I finish the long term 'stayers' on my bench! Too busy doing 'stuff' for everyone else!!!!!!!! Cheers, Pete M.
Silver Fox
Pete, thanks for the kind words. I don't think my Fondiere Miniatures one will ever get built but some of the resin might find it's way into my next Revell one. I think you are right about the Vector cowls the kit ones are a bit bland. Still for £24 you can't grumble at the base kit. You still thinking of coming over for the 2013 SMW? tonyot
That has turned out really well Andy, you`ve done a great job, I put the decals on my second Ventura last night and strangely enough we`ve both chosen the same RNZAF scheme!! The wheels on yours really stand out, are they resin replacements or did you make the tyre tread deeper? Cheers Tony O
Silver Fox
Don't post pictures for pities sake, they'll make mine look a complete dogs breakfast! Wheels by Ultracast, well worth the price, I notice that Stewart Meikle had a lot of Ultracast stuff on his stand at Cosford and it was reasonably priced. I hope he'll be a regular supplier of these great bits in the UK.

Sorry Andy I missed your reference to the Ultracast wheels earlier, I did have a set en route from Canada thanks to a very kind fellow Britmodeller but they have gone missing in the post en route! Some thieving Croation gangster working for Royal Mail at Heathrow probably has them now and has no idea what they are apart from funny shaped tablets!! Thanks for the heads up about Stewart Meikle, I`ll have to look him up, is he a fellow Britmodeller? A further sorry too as I`ve already put some WIP photos of my model on Britmodeller,....sorry mate but you`ve nothing to worry about because your model is fab! All the best and keep up the good work, Tony O PS- I`ve got a RAAF one on the go too but I`m keeping it under wraps at the moment. My next one will be a SAAF aircraft!!
