I have the 1:72 USN version with the "Stingers" squadron markings, and the panel lines are very nicely recessed. Beautiful kit, I have no idea why I haven't built it yet!

Cheers,

As Bill says, scribed lines.

Cockpit instrument panel and consoles are well detailed.

Main gear bay is basic, nose gear bay has an unsightly join line down the middle.

Biggest problem I found when I made one (way back when they first came out) was dealing with some of the gaps around and fairing in the intake trunking - there's different versions depending on which mark of Corsair you're building. This might have been down to my incompetence though so I'd be interested to hear of what others think.

I always snap them up when I see them going cheap.

Benchmark A-7 in this scale IMO.

That is the one l been looking at along with the D for the USAF version and l go Fujimi all the way on it but l see Hobby Boss has a TA-7 version which would go great with them but l am not sure if there are errors on it like it's bigger cousins

The HB single-seat A-7s (both 1/72 and 1/48) are caricatures of the real thing. The forward fuselage is about half as wide again as it should be. The Fujimi canopy rattles around inside the HB one with room to spare. As the TA-7 requires a new fuselage, I would hope that the problem has been rectified. But I wouldn't hold my breath... :fraidnot:

you are probably right there but when it comes to the two seat trainer would anyone notice the difference between the Fujimi single seat and the HB two seat?

It's a shame Fujimi never did a two seat A-7 as they are probably the best kits ever in 1/72, at least I think so as I've got 6 in the loft :D

I tend to agree with you on that they are the best in this scale and at the time the only one with a full intake trunk too if l am not mistaken

Hmmmm...depends if they corrected the nose profile when they tooled the two seater. I have a HB A-7K in the loft so I'll see how it shapes up to the Fujimi nose area.

IF you can find it Maintrack Models did a two seat conversion for the Fujimi A-7 years ago and although it took some brave cutting it looked OK when done.
