Lynx7
Ok, decided to take a break from building Lynx and went for the Airfix 1/72 Vosper MTB as a diversion. I remember building this kit over 30 years ago as a sprog and enjoyed it. Despite its age, its actually a very nice kit with some lovely details. I scratch built a few things (to cure my OCD) and purchased a bit of random PE for it. Heres the list of extras; Eduard Revell Vosper MTB PE (different type of MTB but some nice common bits can be used) Great Little Ships 18' Torpedo set (I opened one of the tubes up and put a complete torpedo on the deck) Great Little Ships Oerlikon 20mm cannon (and associated base plate) - perfect fit to replace Airfix one. Mini world M2 .50 cal Brownings and Lewis guns. Absolutely superb details!! For the price, they are exceptional. (Hannants do them) Scratch built: Smoke generator (cylinder type object on rear port deck) Rigging and aerials Mast detail - redid the radar antennas and basket dipole Added detail to the torpedo tubes, bridge area and railings Made new windscreens from thin clear acetate. PE storage boxes around deck Detailed Carley float with a bit of string and added oars. Added a bit or rope around life buoys. Made all the various mooring lines out of string and weathered. Various bits of cabling. 2 bits of brass tubing screwed to bases. And thats about it Thanks for looking.....back to Lynx!

Lynx7
Thanks for all your kind comments! Love the detail but the photoetch ammo looks a bit too clean for me. Yep, tend to agree. Was debating whether to weather them but youve swung if for me now....brb, off to weather ammo Mark, the Tamiya 1/72 Perkasa (Brave Class) arrived today so when I get bored of chucking Lynx together, this will be my next diversion Tony, Yep, ost certainly planning on taking it to the show. I will definitely need a bigger car now. I have 6 completed models Edited May 9, 2012 by Lynx7

heloman1
Hi Tony, I think Gee Bee summed up my thought's, the more you look the more detail you find, Wallace certainly has an eye for detail. Very well done. Have you seen the Daring build over on ModelWarships, it's 72nd scale, it might tickle your fancy as diorama idea for one of your Lynx! Gannon
Extremely nice build Lynx7. I have started building my Airfix Vosper MTB and I hope to incorporate some of your ideas and details. If it turns out half as good as yours I will be happy.
