The MD-83 and MD-87 where developed from the Douglas DC-9. They are a family of twin engine short/ medium range jet airliners with the engines set in pods on the rear of the fuselage and a T tail.

Norway Airlines started in early 1987 when they purchased the delivery slots for a pair of Boeing 737 aircraft. Problems with permits and red tape forced the two Boeings to be leased out on delivery. Norway Airlines leased 2 airliners, an MD-83, SE-DHB, and a MD-87, SE-DHG from Transwerde .

The MD-83 is available in 1:144 from Minicraft as an injection moulded kit, and the MD-87 can be built using a Welsh Vac-form kit, or using the Minicraft MD-83 and some resin conversion parts from Braz models.

The screen printed decal sheet is very comprehensive, and the details are very fine and sharp on the review sample. Just as expected from Lima November. This set has a set of very clear and easy to follow colour instructions that have a number of clear drawing/ diagrams to aid decal placement and a painting guide.

Conclusion

This is a high quality set of decals. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, and it is a comprehensive set of decals.
