phat trev
I have an Emhar 1/72 MIG-3 which after a bit of reading around is not the most acurate kit but looks like a good base model. Its very cleanly moulded and needs a bit of DIY to make it look great. wondering if I should try and create a MIG-1 from it prehaps as it is a bit different. Anyone built this? I have found some very good references to MIG development online (A chap called Pascal Divay has made a good replica that adds to my confidence in getting a good result from the kit.) http://www.mig3.sovietwarplanes.com/mig3/mig3.html#history http://mig3.sovietwarplanes.com/modelphoto.../mig3pascal.htm
Test Graham
I built it way back when, it was one of the Frog testshots for Novo. Although not perfect and a little basic it does make up into a decent-looking MiG. Then it was the only decent MiG: since then there has been the RPM and the Hobbyboss. Plus several reruns of the awful Croix Du Sud kit under different labels, most of which should have known better.
John Thompson
Plus several reruns of the awful Croix Du Sud kit under different labels, most of which should have known better. Well said - perhaps a list of the guilty parties is appropriate, in order to warn the unsuspecting: - Italeri - Zvezda - Revell For phat trev, here's another on-line reference that may be helpful: http://www.wunderwaffe.narod.ru/Magazine/A...r/115/index.htm A link to the drawings is second from the bottom: http://www.wunderwaffe.narod.ru/Magazine/A.../Draw/index.htm The photos are the last link at the bottom: http://www.wunderwaffe.narod.ru/Magazine/A...res/page_01.htm The drawings include 5 pages showing the evolution of the MiG-1/MiG-3 series which are helpful, although the text is in Russian. Re the MiG-1, here's a very nice build based on the Hobby Boss kit by Uwe Borchert which may inspire you if you decide to go that route: http://www.mig3.sovietwarplanes.com/mig3/b...ig1borchert.htm John
