woody37 Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 I love Christmas, it's bringing out so many unfinished projects that made 2012 so great, can't wait to see more Si
Dr.Jellyfingers Posted December 30, 2012 Author Posted December 30, 2012 Cheers woody, it's taken ages to get back into the swing! Only a little progress to show, making some office furniture now. Two days of making various bits of balsa and hardwood and our man has a desk ! The lamp does work, it has a filament bulb from an old digital watch, I think there's a pic of it lit up a few pages back !! Loads to do, more soon, Si.
Learstang Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Insanely brilliant stuff, Si, keep at it! I hope all had a Happy Christmas! I didn't receive any kits, but I did snag a bit of bob to buy some (I put out the not so subtle hint that money was a more than welcome substitute for an actual gift). Regards, Jason
Dr.Jellyfingers Posted January 5, 2013 Author Posted January 5, 2013 Cheers Jason, and a happy New Year! A tiny bit more prog in the office. Made a chair and did some finishing of the wood with some walnut oil, looks ok but smells great !! A chair earlier :- Also made a sort of typewriter for on the desk:- On the desk with the lamp lit, the walnut oil has brought out some nice grain:- It's gonna' take forever this build !! Si. 1
Martian Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Great to see you back working on this again Si! Great progress and that typewriter is bonkers! I trust you will be painting the correct cyrylic alphabet characters on the keys? Martin
shark 64 Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 It has been a while since I saw your build. Its just too cool. Typerwriter is tops. The whole dio is coming along nicely. Oliver
Nobby Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Well its been a while old pal but i'm loving it! Love the lathe!
Dr.Jellyfingers Posted January 14, 2013 Author Posted January 14, 2013 Cheers guys, more on the way soon!  I must admit I've become a little bogged-down with this build, so much detail to add but I'm determined to get there!  Si.
Learstang Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 (edited) Keep at it, Si! I, for one, can't wait to see where this all leads. Brilliant work with the tiny furniture. This is like a dollhouse for grownups!  Regards,  Jason   P.S. I agree with Martin; if the typewriter doesn't have the correct Cyrillic characters, it just won't seem accurate! Edited January 14, 2013 by Learstang
John_W Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 I zoomed in on the typwritter. Sorry but you painted the K and the X on the wrong keys.
Dr.Jellyfingers Posted January 19, 2013 Author Posted January 19, 2013 Thanks chaps, getting any characters on the keys is beyond me, I rekon Nobby might be able to though!! Â Â Â Some more furniture and stuff earlier :- Â ">http:// 1
John_W Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Between this thread, the 1/32 B29 and the Huey Medevac threads, I am geting seriously overdosed on Awesome.
Nobby Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Don't look at me Si! even i would have trouble getting the characters on the keys!    You really ought to think about making bespoke dolls house furniture for a bit of spare money though! Its brilliant! Not just the furniture either, that workshop is something else! Are you going to put knobs on the doors from pin heads?Â
tank152 Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Great to see that you're back working on this one Si.
Dr.Jellyfingers Posted January 20, 2013 Author Posted January 20, 2013 Cheers guys, glad your liking it !! Â Good idea with the pin-heads for knobs Nobby, I do enjoy making the twiddley bits, as for doll's house stuff the missus has already put in a request !! Â Â A wee bit of weathering on the stove:- Â ">http:// Â More soon, Â Si.
Martian Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Love the stove! Have you thought of using incense to give a working affect? Â Martin
AdrianMF Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 I'm glad to see this build moving forward again! Can't wait to see the result. Â Regards, Adrian
Bertie McBoatface Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 The stove is fabulous. Just the ting for a Russian winter.
Nobby Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Nice job on the stove Si! I could do with one like that in my room, It's freezing in here! Â Thought you may have put a bulb in that and may be some scrunched up wrapper like from quality street you know the clear red or orange!Â
Dr.Jellyfingers Posted January 23, 2013 Author Posted January 23, 2013 Love the stove! Have you thought of using incense to give a working affect?  Martin That's not a bad idea, metal stove pipe on the outside and some way of concealing the stick, might have a go at that!  I'm glad to see this build moving forward again! Can't wait to see the result.  Regards, Adrian Thanks Adrian, I'm still trying for an overall Soviet feel!  The stove is fabulous. Just the ting for a Russian winter. Cheers Don.  Nice job on the stove Si! I could do with one like that in my room, It's freezing in here!  Thought you may have put a bulb in that and may be some scrunched up wrapper like from quality street you know the clear red or orange! There will be a filament lamp in there with a flickery driver to give it a random effect, some sweetie wrapper sounds spot on!  Tonight I thought I'd have a go at a 1930/40-ish compressor. A few more bits and some paint should see this done:-  ">http://  More on the way,  Si.
Dr.Jellyfingers Posted August 26, 2013 Author Posted August 26, 2013 I'm still plugging away, done some bits on the hangar internal walls and stuff, think I go a bit too daft with these dio's of mine !! Here's a pic of the compressor I've managed to finish and managed to get the little motor in the lath running ! http:// There really will be more soon, honest ! Si.
tank152 Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Great to see a bit more progress Si, its been far to long since the last update. Really missed all the daftness! Tim.
