Silver Fox
I promised to make a Dam Buster Lanc for next years Telford as the Bomber Command SIG is doing a display that hopefully will include all the machines that took part in the raid. If I didn't crack on with it now it would never get finished so here she is. I actually watched a documentary last weekend called Into Wind in which he spoke and I believe that he is the last surviving Dam Buster pilot. The model is the Revell kit modified to give the outer wings a level of dihedral missing in the kit. I added the ballon cable cutters and the forward aldis light. I used Quickboost gun barrels and CMK wheels. The latter had tread on so had to be sanded smooth but the anti shimmy tail wheel was a big improvement over the kit parts. I haven't buildt a 1/72nd scale model for the best part of 15 years so I was quite pleased with the result but I am aware its many failings.
