elger
I'm trying to figure out the layout of the components on the right hand side of the engine of a Spitfire VII. Like the mk VI, the mk VII was pressurized, and had an air intake for the Marshall compressor on that side. I was wondering if anyone knows of the existence of any photos or diagrams that are available of the engine compartment (right hand side) of a Spitfire VII (or VI since the systems are comparable I'm gathering). The wooksta V2.0
The Spitfire bible, aka Spitfire: The History by Eric Morgan/Shacklady is probably your best bet. Oodles of technical drawings in there.
Giorgio N
"Spitfire the History" does indeed have a picture of the blower installation and also a diagram of the blower and piping on the Mk.VI (but the engine is not shown in this). It also contains a cut-away drawing of the same version where the blower can be clearly seen and the engine is visible too.
