WH40k fans - new CGI movie being made

I don't know if anyone else knows this, but I found a wargaming programme on Sky TV this afternoon - channel 252 I think. I suspect it only broadcasts in the afternoon though, as that channel is now showing Travel programmes.

Anyway - one thing they talked about was a new 'semi-official' WH40k movie being made by a fan:

I'm glad I never bought the official 40k movie. My mate did and had to wait months for it. Some people thought it was abysmal and hated it, I wouldn't go that far but it certainly wasn't great but I am stilll looking forward to the day when a truly good 40k movie can be made. All they need to do is go to the Black Library authors and the guys at Forge World for some ideas and I'm sure they could come up with something.

Looks good, I'll keep my eyes out for it next year.

The last W40K movie wasn't all that bad- decent actors, kinda atmospheric. If we weren't Warhammer fans we'd have taken it as a pretty good effort for a straight to video sci-fi flick. The trouble is, as Mike said, the bar has been set pretty high in terms of an excellent, professionally written back story and the impossibly cool models available to us. It's tough to make a b-movie on a shoestring budget that'll live up to our expectations.

I think another problem was the fact that one Ultramarine is pretty much identical to the next. This new film looks to have Inquisitors, grey Knights, some Imperial guard elements - so a bit more variety!
