Shar2
Higgins PT Boat On Deck Series book New in from Squadron Publications, is this paperback book, the subject of which is the Higgins 78ft PT boat. Beginning with a short history of the Higgins boats including a comparison with the ELCO 80ft boats the landscape format book has eighty pages, which are chock full of useful images on these famous boats. Black & white images take up about the first third of the book showing PT boats on operations. The rest of the images are in full colour and are from surviving boats, either in museums or from onboard the sole extant operational vessel, PT 658. This book is an excellent resource for the modeller, with close-ups of all parts of the boats, both interior and exterior with concise, descriptive text for each photograph. Conclusion This is an excellent book, not only for those with a Higgins Boat kit, but those who are just interested in these great superb, small, but powerful vessels. bruce3371
Interesting, I've always only ever associated the name Higgins with landing craft, I didn't realise they made PT boats as well...
Shar2
@Bruce, they apparently built 209 PT boats.
