Enzo the Magnificent
This is true but we shouldn't forget that a lot of the development back in the "good old days" occurred after the introduction into service, with the result that often the various "A" versions were not really operational and there have been cases of drastic design changes over the various versions (something that is great for us modellers!). Today aircrafts enter service at a more advanced stage of the development (or at least this is the idea...) Shame it didn't happen with the Typhoon. We're up to Mark 4 and it's still not fully fit for purpose!
oggy4624
Typhoon's problems have always been french and german, with the french pulling out early and the germans in -out -in driving up the cost and their apathy scuppering the indian deal. I reckon this was done to appease the soon to be former presidential midget for his backing of der new fuhrer! Also the RAF will now have to learn not to make design changes on a minute by minute basis which drives costs exponentially. Finally a smart move buying C17 as is with no input from bae - saved billions! I actually prefered the boeing effort - looked nastier and more robust, but given LM's links to the bush government, they were going to win anyway
VulcanXH558
It's Fugly in my opinion. Just manufacture new Harriers from scratch, they're a proven design that worked. If it ain't broke don't fix it!
GrahamS
I still say paint it white and call it Dumbo. Graham

Following this philosophy the RAF should have still been equipped with the Spitfire Mk.I....

prowler0000
I hadn't realised how inaccurate the real airframe was.Look at that colour. It's WAAAY off. Intake warning chevrons have been applied in the wrong place, the undercarriage needs replacing and the tyre bulge is completely wrong. I can see just looking at the photo that they've got the wingspan wrong. The ejection seat could be useable but the pilot seems a bit naff. Sorry to be so negative but I won't be buying this one. Looks like we're going to have to wait a bit longer for the definitive - this is a real disappointment. Genius!!!!  Although the chevrons are in the wrong place, they ARE the wrong colour. & of course an AM cockpit is a must..... My 1/2p opinion? Over-priced, over-complex & (maybe) over `ere!
Basosz
Do the canopies of all versions open forward or is this just on this STOVL version? And is that because of the lack of space behind the canopy where that huge vegetable cutter is?
