Su-22M4 KP 1/48

Recommended Posts

After my visit at Świdwin Air Base last year:

http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.p...c=71614&hl=

I decided to build our Su-22M4 in new NATO-called camouflage.

My choice was plane no 3816.

I used plenty of aftermarkets for this old KP kit:

-Aires cockpit,

-CiroModels wheel bays

-Quickboost landing reflectors, airscopes and exhaust cover

-Part PE sets

-Aerobonus UB-32 launchers

and Ch-25 missiles from Trumpeter's Su-24 kit.

Decals made by my colleauge.

i have this kit,now ,after seing your build ,my kit might just have to stay in my stash forevermore!!!

that has got to be my favourite build of that kit EVER!!! ,it looks flawless ,did you add all those rivets, cant remeber the kit having that much detail ,really like the polish scheme ,but i might just go for the old soviet scheme

also like the canopy framing ,is that photo etche or did you do that?

stunning build mate :worthy:

Brilliant work! I have one in the stash, but I don't know when I'll get round to it.

Always think it looks as though it was made from spare parts from a T-72.

My impression was that this airplane is made like a farm tractor. Soviet quality was poor but very effective.

buccy mad

Mostly Part PE cockpit set and some stratch:

I used four great Part PE sets dedicated to this model:

Crew ladder is removable:

what paint techniques do you use ?

what varnish do you use ?

Typical for me painting scheme you can find in my older WIP threads.

Final vanish is flat Gunze C182 mixed with flat base smooth C189.

I am glad you like it.
