Mitsubishi Raiden 'Jack'

Mucho fantastico sir!! Hats!

I followed this on your WIP thread, and I reckon she's a beaut!! Nice to see some restrained pauint chipping rather than the usual, "start engine, watch paint blow off" look ( whihc is how I finished my 1/48th model!)

The thinness of the kit canopy really adds to a convincing scale look.

Cheers

Many thanks Jon - agreed on the canopies - the kit transparencies are superb!

I'm a huge fan of Hasegawa's philosophy of simplicity and accuracy and this kit exemplifies this.

Only thing that I've added that wasn't in the box is a set of Eduard belts.

Very nice work indeed Iain. Good to see you posting something in RFI as a change from your more involved long-term projects.

LOL - tell me about it! ;)

Good to have some relatively quick projects to keep the interest up! :)

Beautiful job, Iain! The restrained weathering is superb. Is that an armored glass plate inside the cockpit?

Cheers Bill - yup - a big flat section of armoured glass between pilot and gunsight.

What method did you use for the chipping?

Model primered grey - then silver - then clear barrier coat - then camouflage - then scalpel/cocktail stick/metal pan scourer. Actually very simple.

Aim is to make the model look like it's made from aluminium underneath, rather than plastic :)

Thanks guys - comments really appreciated...

Please excuse all the blemishes in the photo's - dirt on the camera sensor and small apertures (f32) show them up badly!

Hey Iain, any pics you have of your 32nd Ki-84 build would be lovely to see. I need to finish my 109F-4 Trop before I start the 84...

So many kits and so little time, ho hum.

Hiya - photos?

Well - dug her out of the cabinet - very dusty and with broken aerial and entry step - will have to fix...

But here she is - built quite a while ago when the 1:32 kit first came out.
