Gary West
Technically a TF-100F as these machines were ex-Danish 100's purchased around 1982/3 after withdrawal from the RDAF. A fairly popular visitor to RAF Bases back in the mid 1980's especially up to Binbrook. This is the the much slated Trumpeter kit more or less straight OOB except a modified scratch built nose (WTF is that bump?) and wing tip ECM sensors. I also added a couple of resin seats because unlike all the other F-100 users, the Danes opted for the MB Mk5 seat. Decals were produced specifically for my by Ad Astra masks - awesome service and very affordable! Heres the real thing......... Shes not actually finished, the Burner cans supplied in this kit are not accurate for this a/c, so I've some thinking to do there. I wanted to do something very different but something from my favourite era - the 1980's. Edited February 27, 2012 by Gary West
Silver Fox
I like her very much, I think I photographed her or her sister at the Last Last Lightning Show. Lovely work.

Lazy Builder
I've seen photos of these F-100s and always thought they would make an unusual and very interesting build. This is a very nice job - it looks great. But, what is that lump on the nose?
Ghostbase
Very nice work Gary, thanks for sharing. You have caught the Flight Systems colour scheme and markings well, the 'Hun' looked really good in this scheme. Have never seen that 'bump' on the nose before. I was lucky to see F-100D N405FS and F-100F N404FS at Mojave in 1987, they had the later F-102 type jet exhaust. Also nostalgia for F-100F N417FS which displayed at the 1997 IAT at RAF Fairford. Gary West
I think I photographed her or her sister at the Last Last Lightning Show. Lovely work. Thanks all. The photo above was taken at Binbrook during the last Lightning show, so its probably the same a/c, and I have no idea what the lump on the nose is either - answers on a postcard please

Paul
Wow! Very nice work indeed. I remember one of these being at Bournemouth airport quite a lot when I was younger. There is something really special about military jets in civil schemes (aside from Red Bull markings that is!).

Wezra
Really like that, brings out the lines of that lovely jet! What are you plans for the burner can, what was different on the real one? Matt
Gary West
What are you plans for the burner can, what was different on the real one? Probably a stratch solotion. There are 2 different engine types, this is what the kit supplies..... and this is what I need.......... The Monogram kit supplies 2 options although they are not swappable without some surgery! Thanks again.

Yankymodeler
Very nice job on an unusual subject! I'm getting more and more into these kind of unexpected markings, and yours is one of the best I've seen! Looks like an exceptionally smooth finish.
