Its the Trumpeter 1/35 CH-47D Chinook and its a scratch building monster as there is nothing on the market to convert her to a current RAF HC2, so this is a time consumer and a patience basher. I will update as soon as i can.

this is looking good, but....

eerrmm....

I know what Clive means. I'm not really into egg whisks but there have been some nice builds on here recently and I might be tempted .........

Lot of fine quality work going on the exterior alone there Clive. Not a fan of those infernal contraptions but enjoy seeing some great modelling in progress so will keep watching.

This is already looking very good, RAF Chinooks seem to have acquired loads of bumps and sticky out bits over their lives which are never included in standard kits. You've made a great start so I'm looking forward to seeing this finished in all its glory. Keep up the good work!

Hi all

thanks for your interest ,I said things would be slow and they sure are. Got some more of the aerials on aswell as some more lumps n bumps also got the rear gun done yesterday the inside is now starting to take shape but i need to do quite a bit to the interior so thats going to be the time consumer here still here she is.

Hi all

I said this would be a long topic well here is a little progress.

Here I've tried my best to replicate the quilted interior, the quilted material is actually kitchen towel best and nearest i could come up with as a match.

Hi all

Jim thanks for your intrest

This is where i'm at now, the interior has been painted and is now ready for some weathering and equipment, i'm not sure if any of you have heard of or have some of the live resin stuff but i have just placed an order with acurate minitures. The resin weapons look the nuts so i'm hoping i will not be disapointed. Any how heres the pictures.

Half painted interior.

Now the fun starts, I had one of these beasts pass over my house the other night it was no lower than 50 - 100 feet off the roof of my house, it was a site to remember and the rotor wash was like a mild wind very cool.

Thanks for stopping by.

looking into the fuselage brought me straight back to the sounds and smell of running into a Chinook for the flight home from Bosnia !!

will never forget that flight!! that looks stunning mate, the kitchen roll really works well. it looks spot on to my eye!!

looking forward to seeing this one done

Nice to see there's soundproofing quilting inside that beastie

The only time I flew in a chokkawokka it was all bare walls and visible framing

Mind you this was back in 77 in a US Army CH 47

:)

I should say (sorry) this is becoming a very nice artwork
