I built a couple of Revell 1:32 ones in 2010 - an F Mk 6 and FGA Mk 9 - I really ought to take some photos of them fully complete - but these were taken just before Telford '10 (missing tanks and gear doors):

Good luck to everyone in the Group Build - great to see Hawkers finest centre stage! :)

Sharp trailling edges and rear wing root. Not the small exhaust outlet - on all marks except the Sapphire engined F2 or F5

On to the F5...

I have one of these in the pile, seems quite nice and I may get round to it one of these days. 1/72 'PLASTYK' Hunter F Mk 6.

http://modelingmadness.com/reviews/korean/kinghunter.htm

Robin.

Thanks Robin, Just one observation on this review. The reviewer says......"I originally built the Frog Hawker Hunter FGA. 9 kit back in the 1980s. It was a joy to open the reissued Plastyk kit and find the same classic kit that Frog released almost thirty years ago. "

Except its not! It was a new tool and had nothing whatsoever to do with the old Frog kit - in fact it looks like the cross-bred illegitimate off-spring of Messrs Matchbox and Frog! Shame they didn't take the best parts of both kits rather than the worst parts!! <_<

Good luck with your build Robin!!!

Absolutely, Bill. Of the original Hunter kits, the Plastyk kit is arguably the best of a bad bunch. I haven't actually tried it, but the Plastyk front fuselage and wings mated with the Airfix rear fuselage might yield a reasonable model.

And - just to add to the Cybermodeler review of the original Revell 1:32 FGA Mk 9 - the ailerons need tweaking to be parallel in chord rather than tapered (Revell fixed this on the F Mk 6 kit).

Here's where it was discussed/illustrated in my last build.

The difference (FGA Mk 9 kit left, F Mk 6 right):

And what was done:

What a fantastic array of Hunters

This is the only Hunter I've built so far and it was around the time I returned to the hobby a few years ago.

Its a Revell 1/72 F.6 with the Pavla nose to make an F.3. Unfortunately the engine section resin got broken and I couldn't fathom the leading edges, so other than the nose its still an F.3. Pretty though!
