Darth Vader
This is the the prototype set Ive been working on with the help from fellow BMer Jacksdad. This set will hopefully be available from Heritage Aviation soon. Posted on ARC but the yanks are only bothered about F15s so it seems. I wont bother to describe each picture as you will get the idea This build is to see if it all turns out looking like a F3, so here we go 003 by aaron hughes1, on Flickr 011 by aaron hughes1, on Flickr 005 by aaron hughes1, on Flickr xxxx 001 by aaron hughes1, on Flickr xxxx 002 by aaron hughes1, on Flickr xxxx 004 by aaron hughes1, on Flickr bbb 002 by aaron hughes1, on Flickr 9 by aaron hughes1, on Flickr m 001 by aaron hughes1, on Flickr 10 by aaron hughes1, on Flickr 11 by aaron hughes1, on Flickr I think it looks good, hope you guys do Cheers
jacksdad
Hi Aaron, Glad to see your still working away on your one. I'm at the stage of putting the colours on the tail markings for the 25th Anniversary one. I hope to get some pictures done posted over the week end. What markings are you doing? bentwaters81tfw
Typical, after I sold my F2 and IDS! Good work, I can always buy another IDS, cheap enough. Any ideas on cost of the conversion?
AjD
Wow! Very impressive. Just one point - although I may be mistaken - that nose profile doesn't look quite right. I presume you're building to check things like this out so I hope you won't mind the comment. It looks good from below but from the side and above something's not quite right to my eye. The profile of the area where the nose joins the fuselage specifically looks like it tapers too quickly. Could be wrong of course. Hopefully that's constructive because otherwise it's a lovely build and a beautiful paint job. I wish you the best of luck with it. Shaun
Looks great, what did you do for the decals? I might be tempted by one of these conversions Shaun.
AirfixAndy
Got to say that looks gorgeous ! In the first batch of photos the nose did look a little "off" but it must of been the camera angle because it certainly looks spot on in the last photo !! I want one of these like...... yesterday !! AirfixAndy
Looks great, what did you do for the decals?I might be tempted by one of these conversions Shaun. Those look like they are from the Xtradecal sheet X32001 Andy
Darth Vader
A sticker to you sir, they are indeed from the Xtradecal sheet. Also from the Flightpath set and the spares box. The Tornado nose is a difficult shape to get right so I cheated and used the Revell F2 nose, generally regarded as correct. Thankyou for all your comments Dont forget to see " Ready for Inspection " for some more. As for availability and price . . .?

Jim Saudi
Hi there, What a super build and conversion. Noticed that you have ommited the "coat hanger" ultra-sonic ice detector from the pre-cooler intake on the fin and also the famous "4 skin" gauges for the wheel brakes, canopy and pitchfeel accumulators located under the left intake. The decal for the skin gauges are available on the 1/32 Revell F2 decal sheet which is readily available out here in Saudi. Oh yes! They have loads of the 1/32 F-2 kit in stock as well! Im back in UK mid March if you would like a sheet or even a model? The shop is an Alladins cave of old model kits. Magic work. Jim
