Mark M
hi chaps, this is not my area at all, so i need your help i have recently got hold of a 1/35 Dragon sd.kfz.138/1 Geschutzwagen 38m Fur s.IG.33/2, and was wondering which would be the appropriate crew for it and best place to get them. i know ZERO about armour, but fancied having a go at a diorama thanks Mark
Shar2
I'd probably go for either Miniart or Tamiya figures which could suit your requirements. There is a Hobbyfan artillery crew set, but it's quite expensive.

alanmac
Hi Mark Yes I would agree that looking for a self propelled gun crew would be appropriate. There are several on the market from Miniart, Dragon and Tristar. I like the Tristar sets but they can be difficult to find due to unexplained reasons of supply. But if you look around either with dealers or ebay you'll find them. Here is a review by Terry Ashley on PMMs of them when they first came out. Tristar Set The other Tristar Set I have the second set. Miniart do some nice figures but they can come up on the larger size of 1/35 scale if you consider having any figures inside the vehicle/gun area. Miniart 35008 Miniart 35054 Dragon Dragon 6367 Dragon 6530 for a more winter scene Hope its of help. Alan

alanmac
Hi Yes I have one of the buildings and I've yet to tackle it. No experience of vac formed stuff to date. I know how to do it, read the informative details on the Miniart site, its just finding the time and more relevant, the confidence to have a go. Early made Miniart figures can be a bit heavy and crude on detail (figures) but they've improved greatly and along with Masterbox do some nice sets. I've been buying more resin figures the plastic these days. Whilst some will argue that plastic gives you four or five figures for the price of one resin figures unless you hold one in your hands, a good one that is, and see the level of detail in a resin figure then you won't appreciate the true difference. One of my favourite manufacturers is this one. If you only wanted one figure to accompany your SPG then maybe consider one from this range.
