Do you really think there is a market for a fiberglass display model of a Phantom, when the real thing is readily available?

Valid point, but those are not Spey powered Phantoms (which are quite a bit different in so many subtle ways). Besides, even if somebody were to ship another secondhand Phantom airframe to the Falklands and slap an RAF paintjob on it, the thing would still corrode to dust in a few years. At least a properly build fibreglas replica has a potential to last longer in such a harsh climate.

The photo was used as an example. Do you really think the MoD would spend an OUTRAGEOUS amount of money, just to construct a fiberglass replica for use as a gate guard at the end of the world???

Panoz out (subject is getting boring...):D

Ah and another cool photo to finish:

Well, private donation then perhaps? I mean if James May can get a 1/1 Spitfire "kit" made (granted they just modified molds and parts to do that), then why not a 1/1 Phantom or SHAR? ;)
