SaintsPhil
As the title says, has anyone tried thinning Mr Color, the acrylic type, with tamiya thinners? Are there any issues? Thanks Phil
Pin
I think it must be fine. I thin them with Sainsbury's basic vodka - works perfectly

SaintsPhil
I think it must be fine.I thin them with Sainsbury's basic vodka - works perfectly Thanks very much guys, I assumed it would be ok as I thought they were both alcohol based acrylics, By the way I love that idea! I was thinking of getting some IPA once my stock of thinners runs out but that's even better, one gulg for paint one for you....
gcn
Its fine. The yellow top thinner is better than the white top IMO. 99% IPA dries the paint a lot quicker, I use that for yellows and whites. Their levelling thinner is the best thinner I've used with their paints though
SaintsPhil
Thanks, I actually bought some of their Levelling thinner but thought I'd bought the wrong stuff as it stinks, like solvents, is that the one? Phil
gcn
That's it. Can't seem to get it in the UK. Ebay comes to the rescue though
Giorgio N
Don't know why but I never had great results using pure IPA with Gunze paints (while I had great results with tamiya paints). As tamiya thinner is not pure IPA though, I'd expect it to work well
SaintsPhil
That's it. Can't seem to get it in the UK.
