johnnyboy
Would anyone know if the 75mm pack Howitzer M116 was used in the above battle? Edited January 13, 2012 by johnnyboy
Gmat
Yes, the WWII Airborne M8 model, which was redesignated the M116 post-war, served at Bastogne. The 463rd PFAB knocked at least two Mk IVs on Christmas Day attack. See here; http://www.historynet.com/world-war-ii-463...of-bastogne.htm Best wishes, Grant

Wayne rc
Towing Vehicle Dodge 3/4 ton trucks according to one photo I've seen Cheers Terry McGrady Hi Johnny, well if you have your photo evidence from Terry, go with it, but also bear in mind that those airbourne guys would have used any means to move the guns in that desperate situation inc and esp good old grunt power. Even a civvy farm tractor, regular Jeep or or a bevy of ladies from the local brothel, Sounds like a good idea for a dio anyway you go, remember all special forces airbourne etc are masters of mend and make do because of the nature of thier ops, ie behind enemy lines, although the 101st didnt drop into Bastogne, for them it was a case of 'same sh*t different day!
