Revell 1/72 Junkers Ju-290A-7

Recommended Posts

Well, 2 and a half months, later, I have finally finished the Junkers 290. The whole build could have gone a little better, as the wash seems to have permeated into 48 hour dried tailplanes but overall I'm happy with how she has turned out. Looks excellent in my collection!

:D

Really enjoyed this build, thoroughly recommend the kit to everyone, take your time and have patience and she literally falls into place. Some bits are a little bit tricky, the aerials on the nose for example, but nothing really out of the reach of many modellers on here.

Once again, thanks to the many of you who have commented and had helpful tips, been a massive help to me!

Here are the pics of her! C+ C welcome, and I may take some more tomorrow, been a dull grey day in Wales today, so night time was the best time to get them!

Next up from me, apart from the Gripen, will be another Revell 4 Engined WWII aircraft, the mighty Avro Lancaster B.III!

Having built 2 of these monsters myself, I concur with the comments already expressed here. Very nice indeed. This has to be one of Revell's best in recent years. The only problem I had was with the engine cowlings - the fit was atrocious!!. However, nothing a modicum of patience cannot cure. I didn't really appreciate how big this aircraft was until I sat it next to my RAF Nimrod

That is superb! Ugliest plane I've seen, but then, that's what makes the kit interesting. That paint scheme is fantastic, well done that man!

Thanks very much guys, appreciated muchly :)

Been told it's magazine quality, so I have taken the plunge and sent the pictures to model airplane international, hopefully if all goes to plan it will get into the magazine. I personally doubt it, but if you don't ask or try, you won't get.

Once again, thanks for the comments :)

Tom,

That is ONE IMMACULATE build...

It is IMPRESSIVE and the weathering, paint job is OUTSTANDING,

and the Decalling IS PERFECT IN MY eyes.

FLAWLESS and FAULTLESS looking Junkers in MY opinion.. :wow::wub:

Hope it does get accepted by the Modeling magazine.

And as I LOVE Gripen I am SO looking forward to that build of yours Tom.

WAY TO GO... :mike:

BRAVO...

HOUSTON.. :worthy:

Once again thanks all, your too kind!

I'm pleased to say a major magazine said my model was so good, they have accepted me to become a contributor! ^_^

Hopefully soon some of my builds will be made on here, would like to do a WIP, but it's not allowed as that's for the magazine :P

LOVE it. I actually pulled my one out a few days back with thoughts that it may head to the FS heap, but swiftly put it back once I re-examined the greatness of the kit. You have now made me think to build it, one day anyways. WELL DONE!

Wow - impressive bird and impressive build, Tom! I'm glad I didn't sell mine as it looks a real treat. I want to do mine in Eastern Front markings (I need something for my Lavochkins to shoot at).

Regards,

Jason

Cheers all! :)

It seems my WWII German A/C series is about to expand further, in the next 2 weeks I will receive the Revell Blohm Und Voss BV 222, so this project lands me in good stead for it! :L

Once again thanks for the lovely comments, and I HIGHLY recommend this kit to moderate or higher skilled modellers, or ambitious newcomers! :) It's a great kit, and really stands out well in a collection!

Expect this one at Telford in November ( Touch Wood! )
