Eduard SU-27 Flanker

What Academy has done was updated the kit with new parts for the Su-30; of which some parts could be carried over to the standard kit and/or Eduard issue.

I agree about the 'update the kit with new parts for the Su-30' - but I doubt if any of those updates could be carried over to the standard/Eduard kit.

The 'updates' applied to the Su-27UB to make it into a Su-30MKK are the new fins, twin nosewheels and canopy/windscreen - with the front fuselage being modified to include an IFR probe.

None of those could go on a single-seater (although the twin nosewheels could be used to make a Su-35!) - and the windscreen - with its offset IRST ball - might fit a single-seater.

The intrigue gets more murky.......

Just noticed Hobby Boss have announced their releasing a 1/48 Flanker B in 2012 too, could be interesting, at least you know it should come with loads of weapons!!

We've just got this kit in and we're doing it for £61.50

If you got the Academy kit plus the Aires resin cockpit, ejector seat and Eduard mask + etch, you'd be looking at £65+, so it's not that bad a deal in that case!
