smuts
Hi guys, I'm building the AFV Club 251-C & the kit has a radio & mounting bracket but there's no mention of it on the instructions, would have thought they would have carried a set, so could someone tell me where the set would have been situated. Thanks Andy
Dad 10
By the looks of it the Radio Operator (on the troop carrier variant) sat beside the driver with the radio directly in front of him, on the dash board so to speak. The bracket may be for variants that had the radio in the fighting compartment (the Stummel for instance) (Source: Osprey Modelling .6 SdKfz251) Richard McC Edited December 27, 2011 by Dad
Wayne rc
Yes I second that, it was mounted at the same place as the drivers dash but on the right so the set was at head height for the op it was set back into the recess of what you could say is the bonnet or engine compartment roof, with the firewall behind it (it hangs off this roof by a small mounting bracket on each side) and it is flush with the armour with the vision port above. there is'nt much in the way of bracket just 2 mounting points either side of the radio.
