Question to Quickshine users

Morning all,

I've used it as my gloss coat and to dip canopies as long as I've been back modelling, in too 'new' to get any Kleer (although I've got a bottle of the new formula stuff).

I think I remember someone saying the other day that they had had issues with QS peeling off canopies, possibly in the Friday night thread?

Well I've had the same issue recently, I thought it was me but the more I think about it the more I'm wondering if it just doesn't adhere to the clear parts well! I wash them and let them dry before applying and usually go for a couple of coats.

I've removed the masking on my latest project to find half the paint on the canopy comes with it!

Anyone else had this? Or even just QS peeling off with the masking tape (I'm using tamiya tape)?

Phil

I'm using Astonish, can't get quickshine and that does the same thing

Hi Colin, please share your use and experiences of Astonish ( Which product is it?) Have been looking out for Klear without success. TIA, Aidan

It's called Astonish Flawless wood floor polish. It's milky in colour but dries clear, I airbrush it on in light coats to build up the shine, it takes a few coats on matt paint but is self leveling and dries quickly.

I have tried it on the clear parts and while it does slightly hide a few light blemishes, it's not in the same league as Klear judging by the posts on here.

I get it from The Range 750ml for £1.00

If you have a Range store near you I would also get some Winsor & Newton Galeria acrylic matt varnish, I picked up a 500mm tub for £9.99 and that sprays really good and gives a lovely matt finish on top of the Astonish.
