Mark M
his guys im not sure if ive posted this ive been sorting some photos and cam accros them ok lets imagine there was a problem getting the Buccs out to the gulf to assit in laser desegnation of targets, the the MOD decided they needed a quick fix to take out ground targets at low level, the americans had run in to problems with sand and there A-10 fleet were struggling so the RAF used the only thing they had left that could fit the bill, Hawk T1'a outfitted with either bombs or rocket pots and cannon's they soon started to work on clearing tanks and AA instilations from low level the Hawk T1's were painted in the now customary ARTF pink and the ground crews applied there 'war' markings Edited November 30, 2011 by markmarples

SimonR
Like it Mark, I guess its unlikely but if anything kicked off big time now in the mid-east a Hawk T2 in this scheme could become a possibility!!! Cheers Simon

Westie7
Coooool. I do like the weathering, You beat me to it for a CAS Hawk, I had a different loadout in mind... Brimstone-CRV7-Gun-PW4-Litening. Dont even know if that would be practical.

Jeenyus
Very nice!! That scheme really suits it, and it is nice to see one loaded up! Just out of interest, is it ever possible that Hawks would be used in action? Do the RAF have a contingency for air defence or somesuch? Bit of a waste of good aircraft if they don't... Bit of a waste of good aircraft if they don't... yes they have a war role, basically they were to pair up with f3's ( i guess typhoons now) aremed with winders for an airdefence role and use the typhoon at deignate but... the saudi hawks similar to t1's are on full air to air patrol
phildagreek
Nice, Hawks always look good, but the pink suits it, good painting.
John_W
Could even be weathered with bright red showing if they had to draft in the Red Arrows aircraft too...
Selwyn
You could have done a Real one of this for Gulf War one. At Dharan the RSAF Hawks were all sat there ready to go with a gunpod and two BL755 cluster Bombs on the wings looking good in the RSAF camo scheme! I must admit I don't know if they ever flew any missions though. The Six Kuwaiti Hawks that escaped the Iraqi Invasion I believe flew a few Ground attack missions from Saudi Arabia on the first Day/Night of the invasion until the Soudis stopped them.
