Iain Ogilvie
Need to get some daylight shots - and she's a real *bu**er* to photograph as she's so large... Anyhoo - please forgive the colour casts - will post better images when I have them. Iain Edited October 25, 2012 by Iain (32SIG)
AnonymousDFB1
Wow, nice one Iain, looking forward to seeing the daylight shots.
tank152
She looks great now with some weathering. I thought it looked to clean at Telford, but you'd hardly had chance to finish it then.
Iain Ogilvie
Thanks guys - unfortunately they're really rubbish pix! Think I need to change that aerial wire too... Iain Edited November 27, 2011 by Iain (32SIG)

spitfire
Looks great, the photos however do not do it justice, it really is stunning, nice job. Cheers Dennis
Vulcanicity
That's a lovely Heinkel. I particularly like the wear and tear to the underside black paint. You've captured the looks of a hastily re-camouflaged aircraft perfectly.

Greased Lightning
Very nice indeed Iain, I wonder if model paint manufacturers will start offering larger sizes as more of these giants come on to the market?
Rob C
Well that really is something special! Love the weathering. Must be huge! I look forward to seeing some outside pics. Did you take this to Abingdon show earlier this year? I seem to remember seeing a huge He 111 stored against a wall without any paint on it. Unless that was a Stuka. I can't remember. At 31 my memory isn't what it used to be!
woody37
It looked done when I seen it at Telford.....looks even more done now gorgeous build Ian, I wish I had the space to do larger scale, my eyes would like me too !!!
Iain Ogilvie
Thanks folks - not sure I think it justifies such comments - I'm still in two-minds over the result and *may* have to do a little more work. Should be able to get some daylight pix tomorrow - but in the mean-time I'm indebted to Derek A for tweaking the images and making them look a little better! Have fun! Phartycr0c
Iain, thats a really nice result. It looked great on the display table at SMW and with the extra detailing it looks superb! Well done. On the ariel wire, I overheard a conversation at SMW around using lycra strands. Elastic so the tension is maintained without ripping parts off, cheap and almost scale thickness. I think its used mainly for ship rigging etc. Rich got hold of some from White Ensign. Edited November 29, 2011 by Phartycr0c

Yup - that's the stuff I've used here. Have used it on many occasions but looks a bit thick (new reel) - I may have to stretch some sprue... Iain Ogilvie
Tidying up I find myself with a spare set of the white fuselage crosses and aircraft code 'E' that I drew up and printed on my ALPS - if anyone would like them please drop me a pm and I'll pop in the post - free to a good home Iain Edited December 2, 2011 by Iain (32SIG)

Iain Ogilvie
Thanks guys - much appreciated. Not sure I'm totally happy with it - but don't we all have an impression in our minds eye before we start on a project of how we want it to look - then the finished reality never lives up to the expectation? Robert - it's a good, fun, build - just make sure you've got room to work - I frequently ran out of space on the bench and ended up with her on my lap a lot of the time... Anyway - something smaller next Iain Edited December 11, 2011 by Iain (32SIG)
Iain Ogilvie
If anyone's interested - the 8 page build feature is in the current issue of Military in Scale magazine (the one with the beautiful Swordfish on the cover). Iain
