luis pacheco
To do an Argentinian Skyhwak you will need the radome also. About the decals you have the Aztec.
Mark M
thanks so i need a new radome, and Aztec decals, any idea where i can get them
luis pacheco
The decals you can buy direct from Aztec. http://www.aztecmodelshop.com/index/items/...s-falklands-war The radome you have the Aconcagua, an Argentinian brand. http://www.aconcaguamodels.com.ar/prod/det_d_01.htm But the Aconcagua conversions are for the Hasegawa kit. Jetblast
Condor & Aerocalcas both do decals for the Argentinian 1/48th A-4. Both companies are in Argentina, don't know who stocks over here....................
luis pacheco
Unfortunately Aerocalcas is no longer on the market. The owner died last year.
Phantom726
Be aware that the Italeri release is the A-4E/F/G. The Argentine Air Force operated the A-4B ( local designation A-4P) and the A-4C while the Argentine Navy operated the A-4B (designated A-4Q). In the nineties they received the A-4M and OA-4M (local designations A-4AR and OA-4AR respectively). Depending on how accurate you want your Skyhawk you may be up for some heavy modification work if you want it displayed correctly: the main differences between the A-4E/F/G and A-4B/C being around the intakes and the nose. Just for your information. Bjarne
Mark M
thansk for that, but i sware blind its a a and B kit i may well be wrong
Troy Smith
thansk for that, but i sware blind its a a and B kit i may well be wrong No, it's not an A/B kit. I did a fair bit of research on this very subject. Apparently the best A4-B/C are the hasegawa kits. They even did a specific Falklands boxing with resin radomes. All unavailable. The Falklands boxing sells for way to much cash on evilbay... Hobbycraft did A-4C 'Vietnam' and A4B 'Falklands' Skyhawks, both come with Argentine Falklands era decals, which are the decent type as well. Easier and cheaper to find. Problem is Hobbycraft made the canopies the same width as the later A-4M, so they are too wide. The HC kit is pretty good, not as refined as HAse, but has a lot of ordanance. There are a few reviews and previews on Modeling Madness if you have a look there, or just have a google about now you have some pointers. Antoine
Luis is right on pointing to Aconcagua products, regarding the VLF Omega antenna, as hasegawa didn't do a good job on its Falklands A-4 Boxing. Best way to go is to find an haseg A-4B/C, with aztec decals and Aconcagua resin, as Luis said.
luis pacheco
The Hasegawa A-4E/F is good if we use the Aconcagua conversions.

Troy Smith
allong the same lines where can i get Mirage iiiEa decals for a italeri kit, again relating to the Falklands war Mark have look at the Aerocalcas site, they do/did a Mirage III sheet. Condor do sheet with markings for a few Falklands planes, Skyhawk/SHAR, Dagger. http://www.condordecals.com.ar/condordecal...=9∏=16# another Argentine decal manufacturer is http://phoenixcalcomanias.blogspot.com/ The sheets are $10 and post, but payment is by Western Union.. Antoine
There are also some old esci Mirage IIIE box that have the Argentine decals from the start. Not to difficult to find on ebay, but I must admit that accuracy can be questioned.
Giorgio N
Back in The dawn of days, Esoteric also did conversions to turn an A-4E into an A-4B/C. Of course these are long OOP while the Aconcagua products are still available from the manufacturer. Speaking of Mirages, Carpena set 48-12 contains decals for a Fuerza Aerea Argentina Mirage III, but I don't know if it's correct for a falkland era aircraft.
