phat trev
Looking to available PE sets for the EE Lightning, I am suprised that no one makes etch for the Matchbox twin seat version! I thought maybe I could use a twin seat Hunter etch set with a bit of chopping and changind but alas no sets here either! sratch building it is then.. well unless anyone knows any different!? I suppose you could use two sets of F6 PE parts!! The T55 is a very old kit - it probably pre-ceeded Photo Etch!!! It used the F2a/F6 wings and other details and offered a new two seater fuselage. Flightpath do a very decent detail set for the F6- most of which should be applicable.........
theplasticsurgeon
You could try individual seats of the correct shape - anything will be an improvement on the kit. As for the exterior, you could combine with an Airfix belly and wings to make an RAF version:
phat trev
The airfix belly conversion looks good. I have an Airfix F1a which I could slice up. A bit of a shame as this is a good model. Edited November 22, 2011 by phat trev

Max Headroom
I did try grafting the Airfix belly tank onto the Matchbox fuselage but found that the width of both were incompatible. Trevor
phat trev
thats what gave me inspiration with this, I am not a big resin fan so I thought that I would have a go at bettering the Matchbox option.
