Peter Marshall
I am just about to start my first japanese aircraft every, a Hyakushiki Shitei III , but I am confused more that normal by the paints, particularly the interior colour. Tamiya provide the colour as a mix of yellow, sky and blue, but I have no idea of what the colour should be, or what an equivalent would be. I have seen references to a metalic blue colour and green olive and grey/green but I am not sure which is the right colour. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. spitfire
Hi Peter, this may help, http://www.ipmsstockholm.org/colorcharts/s...harts_japan.htm I can also recommend the White Ensign Models paints as well, try here, http://www.whiteensignmodels.com/acatalog/...amp;CatalogBody Cheers Dennis Edited November 10, 2008 by spitfire
andym
Look here: http://www.j-aircraft.com/faq/ki46.htm#Din...nterior%20color It's the first of the "New" posts on the list. Mitsubishi interior green from WEM, slightly lightened for scale effect is what I used. HTH Andy
David_in_Fremont
I'm not sure what the status is with Tamiya paints across the pond these days, but their XF-71 is a darn good match straight from the bottle.
Dave Gibson
I'm using an official XF71 Cockpit green on a A6M5. It's about the same as British Grey/Green. Maybe a tad lighter. Dave.
avro683
I got a glimpse at a Dinah walkaround book and would agree that Tamiya XF71 is very close to the colour in those pictures. It's a very new colour so heaven knows how long it will take to be insluded in Tamiya's kit instructions.
