whitestar
Hi Fellow Treadheads This Is Doing my head in, I have a 1:72 scale Revell Panzer Kpfw IV Ausf H Which has a 3 Pattern camo colour Of Yellow, Green and Brown The base coat would take care of the yellow, and I know blue tak can be used for the squiggly lines but what I dont understand is how!! this is done without spraying the second colour all over the yellow, base coat unless you mask off the yellow but what a hard job! I need Some Pointing In the right direction here as Googling and searching here Prior to this post hasn't really helped Maybe Iam thick but all Iam getting is a Headache As always thanks for any help Surely Iam not senile already (chants of Oh! yes you are)
AnonymousDFB1
I've never built any 1:72 armour or aircraft come to that mater with three colour camo, but yes the normal way is to mask. however as I build 1:48 and bigger normally I airbrush all my camo freehand, but as I said I've not done a three colour camo. Maybe some of the others will have a better idea than me.
Guest snipersmudge
hi justin it all depends on what type of camo you are trying to paint. If you have the yellow as a base you can use blu tack to mask or I would suggest using tamiya tape or masking tape cut to the shapes you want. e.g spray the yellow then mask the parts you want to leave yellow then spray the brown and once dry mask the parts you wish to keep brown lastly spray the green and once dry remove masks the other alternative is to spray free hand or brush paint the camo hope this helps pete
